I came across this good post on wedding lighting and thought I would share. It is hard not to come of as “salesy” when we try to tell people how much of an impact lighting really can make. This article is from a wedding planners prospective and has some great before and after pictures to illustrate. The pics are from Synergetic Sounds and they really know their stuff. They are the company to go to for wedding lighting in the Philadelphia area.

This past Saturday I got to entertain at the awesome wedding celebration of Edward Sim and Elisa Rah at the Hyatt Deerfield. Edward and Elisa put a lot of thought into the planning of their wedding to make it a true reflection of their style and taste and it really made for a fun and memorable wedding for their guests. On May 8th, 2010- Matt Windsor from MDM Entertainment, a Chicago based wedding DJ company provided entertainment for Alison and Dan’s wedding reception at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Illinois.
I was able to work closely with David Turner from George Street Photography, Jeff Manibo from Shoot the Bride Films, and Jeff from Photo Booth Express.
Alison and Dan were a fun couple to work with that had a vision of an elegant wedding reception without losing any of the fun. Together with 140 of their closest friends and family they were able to achieve just that. Alison and Dan were graduates of Illinois State University where they studied theater, and it was very obvious on the dance floor. Along with their friends from school they showed their pre-planned dances to songs such as Tunak Tunak Tun, an Illinois State tradition.
The night ended on a perfect note with a circle around the Bride and Groom as they were sent off on their life journey together to “Two Step” by Dave Matthews Band.
Alison and Dan were an absolute pleasure to work with, and I hope our lives cross paths again in the future.
Kristin and Donald got married last Saturday at the Eaglewood Resort in Itasca and what a wonderful day it was. It would have been nice had the weather cooperated and been as warm as it was earlier in the week but alas, we live in Chicago.
Despite the chill in the air and a little rain the reception was a great party. A few things were different from a typical MDM wedding reception though. The first thing was that when the bride and groom were introduced there was very little cheering and hand clapping. This wasn’t because the couple’s friends and family weren’t enthusiastic, quite the contrary actually, but because the couple was deaf. Instead of clapping your hands together for applause, deaf people throw their hands up in the air and shake them. There were definitely a lot of hands up in the air shaking vigorously as Kristin and Donald entered the room!

On March 14, 2010 we were honored to provide DJ services for Sandra and Rodney’s wedding reception at Café La Cave in Des Plaines, a suburb of Chicago. During the initial meeting with the couple the expressed the importance of not only having a Spanish speaking wedding DJ, but someone that would be able to incorporate the Spanish music with traditional American music.
DJ David Olivares was able to provide just that and so much more! We worked hand in hand with Randy, the event coordinator, at Café La Cave, to make sure everything flowed smoothly throughout the night. A quality wedding DJ needs to make sure that the entire crowd enjoys the music for the reception and David was able to do just that.
Sandra and Rodney were so pleased with the outcome of their wedding and thanked us for the wonderful time they had.
